Shah Rukh’s KKR defeats Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets

Kolkata Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets courtesy fiery fifties by Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi. Iyer hit his maiden IPL fifty off just 25 balls as he and Rahul Tripathi brought up KKR’s 100 inside 10 overs after Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Shubman Gill.

Iyer was dismissed for 53 by Bumrah but Tripathi at the other end brought up his fifty off 29 balls. KKR openers Gill and Venkatesh Iyer had gotten off to a flying start. Earlier, Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya failed to give the big finish to the MI innings as KKR restricted Mumbai Indians to 155/6.

Rohit and Quinton de Kock had started the MI innings with a bang as they reached fifty inside the powerplay after Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to bowl first.
