Punjab govt standing firmly by farmers: Punjab cabinet minister

Cabinet minister Vijay Inder Singla on Sunday attended the last prayers (bhog ceremony) and paid tributes to the departed soul of farmer Dhanna Singh who passed away while participating in the ongoing large scale farmers’ agitation against three anti-farmer agriculture laws.

He also handed over the cheque of financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the victim family which was received by wife of the deceased farmer, Manjit Kaur, brother and children.

Expressing deep sympathy with the family of the victim, Singla said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh always stood firm with the farmers, farmers associations and their families.
