NSW removes caps on visitor limits to homes, more freedoms expected

New South Wales is waking to a raft of newly-relaxed COVID-19 restrictions as the state continues its accelerated path out of lockdown.
Premier Dominic Perrottet announced the changes were being brought forward from December last week.
From today, caps on visitor limits to homes have been removed, indoor pools will be able to open for all purposes, and businesses will move to a two-square metre rule for density purposes.
Nightclub dance floors will also be back in business, while major stadiums can move to 100 per cent capacity.
Indoor halls are also open for any purpose.
Any outdoor event of more than 1000 people will be required to have a COVID-19 safety plan.
Cinemas and theatres and other fixed-seating venues can also return to 100 per cent capacity.
Guest limits – for unvaccinated adults – are also now removed for weddings and funerals.
However, gym classes remain capped with a maximum of 20.
And while new freedoms have been brought forward for the fully vaccinated, they have been pushed back for those who aren’t.
Lockdown restrictions remain in place for unvaccinated people now until December 15, or until NSW reaches a 95 per cent vaccination level.
