Regarding visibility of vacant stations on the portal, Vijay Inder Singla said that during the past few years, the government schools in Punjab had witnessed unprecedented increase in enrolment and the education department had constituted a committee, which in tandem with the directions of the finance department had prepared sanction of posts in the government schools in the state. The posts of teachers were granted or declared surplus as per the students’ strength in each school. Hence, the posts which have been declared surplus are not showing as vacant posts on the portal. Similarly, where the posts have been sanctioned as per the increased strength of students, the posts are being shown as vacant on the portal.
