A Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will transform the existing sporting facilities at Montmorency Primary School by providing $700,000 to upgrade the surface of the oval and improve drainage.

The current play surface at the primary school is in desperate need of improvement and families and students in Melbourne’s north deserve the very best to play and encourage participation in sport.

The oval will be re-laid with a synthetic surface, giving students a more durable area to learn and participate in physical education classes, as well as an area to enjoy at recess and lunch breaks.

Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy said the investment would transform the existing space and provide a positive learning environment.

“After two years of home learning, it’s as important as ever to invest in our schools and encourage students to get active,” he said.

“By overhauling the existing site, the Liberals and Nationals will not only provide students and teachers with the best possible facilities for lessons, but also an area to participate in sport with friends during breaks.”
