Melbourne’s Merri waters covered by thick snow-like foam; cause unclear yet

A creek in Melbourne’s north has been blanketed in thick white foam, resembling a snowfield. The Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) released the astonishing image of Merri Creek on Twitter on Tuesday, confirming officers would investigate the incident.

“EPA officers are investigating community reports of a widespread foam incident currently affecting Merri Creek in the Coburg Park area,” the post read.

The cause of the foam on the water’s surface remains unclear.
