Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 69 runs and with this they have registered their biggest ever win against KXIP.
To begin with SRH put up a solid 201/6.
They were given a brilliant start by Jonny Bairstow (97) and David Warner (52). KXIP’s bowling woes continued in the match, and it would be 36.4 overs since their last wicket that they would strike again — Ravi Bishnoi (3/29) picking up both the openers in the 16th over of the match.
Six of the SRH wickets fell for 41 runs in the last 5 overs, as SRH collapsed after Bishnoi’s momentum-changing over.
Nicholas Pooran (77) brought up a 17-ball 50 in the chase even as wickets fell around him, the fastest 50 of the season. Pooran kept holding one end up, until Rashid Khan (3/12) delivered the knockout blow in the 15th over. KXIP were bolwed out for a cheap 132.
