India defeated West Indies by six wickets in the first ODI of their three-match series in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Chasing a target of 177, the hosts reached 178 for four in 28 overs.

Captain Rohit Sharma top-scored for his side with a knock of 60 runs off 51 balls. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav smashed an unbeaten knock of 34 runs off 36 balls to wrap up the match for India. Alzarri Joseph was in decent bowling form for West Indies and took two wickets. Initially, the visitors were bowled out for 176 in 43.5 overs, with Jason Holder slamming 57 runs off 71 balls. For India’s bowling department, Yuzvendra Chahal was in fantastic form and took four wickets. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar registered three wickets and Prasidh Krishna bagged two wickets
