A spokesperson of Himachal Pradesh Election Commission informed on Thursday that around 81 per cent polling was registered in the third and final phase of the elections for Panchayati Raj Institutes. The elections were held in 1,137 gram panchayats in this phase. The highest 94 per cent polling was registered in Lodhi Majra Panchayat of Nalagarh development block in Solan district.
He said that 49 Covid-19 patients and persons in isolation also cast their votes by following standard operating procedures.
The spokesperson said that the poll was held peacefully and there was no report of any untoward incident in the state.
He said that counting of votes for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti will be held on 22 January, 2021 at block headquarters.
The State Election Commission has thanked the voters of all PRIs of the State, officers, officials and law and order enforcing agencies for peaceful and successful conduct of these elections.
