Former Nagaland Governor and ex-CBI chief Ashwani Kumar, who died by suicide on Wednesday, wrote about a new journey in his suicide note, the police have said.
The body of the ex-IPS officer was found hanging at his house. He served at several high-ranking posts throughout his career, wrote that he was ‘fed up with life’.
The suicide note recovered by police suggests that Ashwani Kumar was worried about his illness. “I am going on my next journey after being fed up with life,” the suicide note said.
Governor Bandaru Dattatraya and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur have condoled the sad demise of former DGP. Ashwani Kumar has also served as Governor of Nagaland and Director CBI.
Ashwani Kumar was the CBI director when the agency arrested Amit Shah in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter killing case in Gujarat. During his term at the CBI, he had dealt with the high profile Arushi-Hemraj murder case.
