Fuel prices went down across the nation as more states slashed VAT charges. Many states joined the Centre in bringing down the fuel prices. Diesel and petrol prices were at an all time high before the Centre and the states announced cut in excise charges. Now the diesel rates are Rs 10 per litre less than before and petrol prices are Rs 5 per litre less than it was a few days ago.
The petrol prices are at Rs 103.97 in the national capital of Delhi. On the other hand, one litre of diesel costs Rs 86.67 after the excise cut.
In Mumbai the petrol prices stood at Rs 109.98 per litre. Diesel price in the business capital stood at Rs 94.14 per litre after the rates were slashed.
“The Government of India has made efforts to ensure that there is no energy shortage in the country and that commodities such as petrol and diesel are available adequately to meet our requirements,” it added.
