COVID-19 case numbers have remained relatively stable across New South Wales and Victoria but the states have collectively recorded 47 deaths.
NSW has recorded 7,540 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
Twenty-five people died with the virus, however, NSW Health said this included previously unreported deaths as some deaths occurred as far back as mid-April.
There are 1,139 people in hospital with the virus and 33 in ICU, a decrease in comparison to yesterday.
Yesterday, the state recorded 1,173 hospitalisations and 34 ICU admissions.
Victoria has recorded 8,737 COVID-19 cases overnight.
Twenty-two people died with the virus.
Similarly to NSW there has been a decrease in hospital admissions since yesterday with 540 people hospitalised with the virus and 32 in ICU.
The state recorded 571 hospitalisations yesterday and 33 ICU admissions.
It comes as both states face a growing health crisis in hospitals and for ambulances, as ramping outside emergency departments grows and staff shortages increase.
