The ruling NDA crossed the half-way mark as trends for the 243-member Bihar Assembly have become available.
The NDA is leading on 131 seats – BJP (73), JDU (51), and the VIP in seven seats – while the Grand Alliance is ahead 98 on seats, as per the trends available on the Election Commission website.
The RJD is ahead on 61 seats, the Congress on 21, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) on 14 and the CPI(M) on two seats.
RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav has secured a lead of nearly 150 votes over JD(U)’s Raj Kumar Ray in Hasanpur seat.
Bihar minister and BJP leader Vinod Narayan Jha leads over Congress rival Bhawana Jha by 6,000 votes in Benipatti seat.
The LJP is leading on four seats, the AIMIM on two seats and the BSP on one seat.
