Andrew O’Keefe has checked into a rehabilitation centre after being released on bail.
The former TV personality left Silverwater jail in Sydney last night and travelled north to the facility.
The 50-year-old stopped at a service station on his way and told a news channel, “I feel well”.
O’Keefe had been in custody since he was arrested in January and charged with assaulting and choking a woman. However, the ex-game show host has pleaded not guilty to a series of charges after police accused him of attacking a woman at his city apartment on January 25.
In February, he pleaded guilty to a separate charge of drug possession.
The conditions of his bail include staying at the rehab centre for six months full-time, taking any medication prescribed to him and regularly seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist.

After several previously unsuccessful bail applications, Justice Robert Hulme ruled the former TV star be released to treat his “significant descent into an erratic and chaotic lifestyle”.
As part of his release conditions, Mr O’Keefe must check straight into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Swan Bay, north of Sydney.
His brother, Phillip O’Keefe, will pick him up from Dawn de Laos Correctional Centre at Silverwater and make the two-and-a-half-hour drive.
