A record set by Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd

By successfully operating up to 145 consecutive days till April 19, 2021, 300 MW Unit-1 of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant (DCRTPP) of Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) has made a  record in the history of HPGCL units. This unit has been operating at its best potential. The unit has secured a leading position in power plants across the country by achieving a monthly plant load factor of 86.32 percent in March 2021.

Giving detailed information, Additional Chief Secretary Power Department, Sh.           Sh. Das said that despite operating the unit at a minimum technical load of 55 percent i.e. 165 MW, the unit has secured the best record with a minimum supplementary power consumption of 8.01 percent against the target of 8.50 percent set by Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC). This has been possible due to optimal operation of complementary units. He said that fuel consumption has also been zero during this period. Fuel was not used at all to achieve this current record performance in the unit. The supplementary consumption of the power station in the financial year 2020-21 was 8.32 percent, which is the lowest ever since the establishment of DCRTPP units in the year 2008. The estimated power load factor of the power station for the financial year 2020-21 has been 100 percent which is a new record since the inception of the units, he said.
