72-yr-old man drowns in Northern Rivers floodwaters

The body of a man has been found in floodwaters in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.
The 72-year-old man was reported missing in floods in Coaldale, a locality north of Grafton, about 8.30pm last night.
Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District were dispatched to search for the man.
A body was found about 9.15pm a short distance away.
The body is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be of the missing 72-year-old.
Inquiries are continuing and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
The region received heavy falls in the past 24 hours, with 51mm recorded in Lilydale and 63 in Whiporie.
More heavy rain is forecast today in northern NSW.
The man is the 19th person to die in the floods crisis that has hit NSW and southern Queensland in the past month.
