Special Punjab Vidhan Sabha session: Navjot Sidhu back after long hiatus, SAD MLAs arrive riding tractors, AAP wearing black capes

In the special Vidhan Sabha session convened on Monday, SAD MLAS came on tractors only to be stopped by the police at Sector 2 roundabout in Chandigarh while AAP MLAs sported black capes as a mark of protest against the farm laws.

The usual drama, attached with the session, was witnessed, as Akali Dal MLAs came riding tractors, as did some of the Congress MLAs – Gurkirat Kotli and Sukhpal Bhullar.

The Aam Aadmi Party MLAs staged a dharna in the Well of the House, demanding that they be given copies of the Bill to be tabled in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha against agriculture laws.

Another striking presence was that of former Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu who arrived at Punjab Vidhan Sabha after almost a year and a half breaking his self-imposed exile. Though Sidhu did not exchange greetings with the Chief Minister, he met a number of MLAs ahead of the session. Last time he attended the session was after the Pulwama attack in Kashmir.
