A 19-yr-old boy has been stabbed and seven others have been arrested after a brawl broke out at a party in Pyrmont in Sydney’s inner-city overnight.
Authorities were called to a unit on Wattle Crescent at 11pm on Saturday, following reports that a group of teens has become involved in a fight.
Police were told just 20 people attended the party, but a number of guests had turned up uninvited.
Shortly after arriving on the scene, police found a 19-year-old man in a nearby park who had suffered multiple stab wounds to his head and legs.
He was taken to hospital and it is believed his injuries are not life-threatening.
A 16-year-old boy who was hit in the head with a glass bottle also suffered minor injuries.
A man and six teens – aged 21, 17, 16, 15, 15, 13, and 12 – were found nearby and arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station.
Police inquiries are continuing and anyone with information relating to the fight is urged to come forward.
The brawl is the latest in a spate of incidents to take place in Pyrmont this year, after a teenager was stabbed in the buttocks near the Star Casino last month, and another two teenage girls were brutally beaten by a group of men at Pirrama Park on the night of Mardi Gras back in March.
